The St. Lawrence County Planning Office is in search of a:
Planner II
Salary range: $54,249 with annual increases and excellent benefits.

Duties of the position: The successful applicant will have experience preparing planning documents such as zoning codes and comprehensive plans, reviewing site plans, variances and special use permits. Strong writing, GIS, critical thinking, statistical analysis and presentation skills are important. The applicant will work directly with several advisory boards including the County Planning Board and Environmental Management Council, as well as local and state officials and the general public.
Minimum qualifications: Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Master’s degree in planning, engineering, urban geography; landscape architecture, public administration, environmental studies or a related field and two (2) years of experience in municipal, community or regional planning; OR
Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in planning, engineering, urban geography, landscape architecture, public administration, environmental studies or related field and three (3) years of experience in municipal, community or regional planning.
Additional employment information: This is a provisional appointment. The successful applicant will need to take a civil service examination. Writing samples may be requested.
